App-V Pre-Launch batch file location and App-Locker RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

When launching a prelaunch script App-V creates and attempts to launch a batch file within C:\Users\ username \AppData\Local\SoftGrid Client\random filename.bat. This batch file is then removed after the application is closed. I assume this is default behaviour.

My current Applocker policy prevents standard users from running any scripts from this location.

Apart from adding an exclusion for this directory which would seem to me to open a security hole. Is there an alternate way to make this work? eg can this location be changed?

The purpose of the script is to copy some files from the VFS into the users physical profile.

  • I think i found my own answer. Changing the prelaunch script type from "<SCRIPTBODY>" to "<HREF>" may fix this. Will test and report back.
