Unable to create new projects in Project Server 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I click save I get the following message:

There was an error in the callback.120|/wEWCwL+u/rzCQKpn5bCCwLNrvW5AwK9+p7tAgKp5JuLAgK53ZHzCQKp1qfNCQKjpsCQBALr8PqgCAKN6aP3BAK/uJCFD4ifXiCMBjS6HoYFkBvrsipQjL03s

<result></result>This happens for both of our project plans, which were working before. I can't find anything related to this in the ULS or event logs. I've tried creating a new plan with no workflow, same error.

  • Your PS app pool account must have the SQL permissions: sysadmin, dbcreator, securityadmin on all 4 or (1 if 2013)  PS databses + WSS content

  • You should in Sharepoint CA increase ULS detail level to see more info

  • Changing the log settings to verbose allowed me to find this in ULS:

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object 'MSP_ReadLocalAndEnterpriseLookupTableInfoByUIDs', database 'XX_ProjectServer_Published'

I've temporarily resolved the issue by making my project server app pool account db_owner. But I don't understand why this is needed since it already has db_reader, db_writer and ProjectServerRole. And ProjectServerRole has execute on 'MSP_ReadLocalAndEnterpriseLookupTableInfoByUIDs'.
