WSS 3.0 - Finding the backup job and its scheduler RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

I have inherited a WSS 3.0 portal which has a daily backup job that's been running since 2010.

The daily backups stopped since Friday and I can not find the actual backup job and its scheduler. There are no errors in the Windows event log either. In Central Administration I can see (in Backup and Restore History) the daily backups history up until Friday.

Any clues on how I can track down the job (and its scheduler) that has been backing up the farm all these years?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Check if either of below is followed

If it is a farm installation with multiple server, check for scripts on other servers as well.

  • Found the answer:

The site is using the Windows Scheduler to kick off the daily backups because WSS 3.0 does not have a scheduler - see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc288541(v=office.12).aspx
