Outlook 2010 Printing/ Send-as problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello together,

I sequenced Office 2010 with the Microsoft recipe.
In general Office 2010 works fine, but I have some problems with Outlook 2010.

Outlook 2010 doesn't recognize the windows default printer. Every time I would like to print with Outlook, an error messages occurs, that no default printer is defined. I have set a default printer, also the other applications Word 2010/ Excel 2010 e.g. works without problems.

Additional I have set the option "Publish to User's Send To Menu" for Outlook 2010. Every time I use this option the error "the argument is invalid" occurs.

Does anyone know about the problems?

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards
    Tobias

  • Hello,

I resequenced the Office 2010 package again from the scratch.
The printing problem is solved now!!

Unfortunately I have still the same problem with the Send-To Outlook.

Any ideas how to fix this?

    Thanks again.

    Regards

  • Hello,

Is the registry-key mentioned in the article part of the sequenced app?

    http://www.viridisit.se/eng/blog/?p=487

What are you sending to Outlook using the Send-to-menu?

  • Hi,

    thanks for your help.

The mentioned registry-key is not part of the sequenced office application.
The problem is, that Outlook 2010 doesn't recognizes the default printer. Everytime I start the sequenced Outlook 2010, the default printer is the Microsoft XPs Document writer. If I use the sequenced Word 2010, the default printer is my client default printer and everything works fine.

It doesn't matter what I send to Outlook using the Send-to-menu, the error is always the same.

    Any more ideas?

    Thanks for your help.

  • Hello,

Have you checked clearing the PKG-file incase that alters the behavior?

  • Hi,

thanks for your help. Unfortunately this also doesn't work.
In noticed, that I also have the same problem in the sequenced Excel.

I would like to check the virtual registry of the package (not with the sequencer) again.
    I tried to open the osd-file with sfttray.exe /EXE REGEDIT.EXE /LAUNCH "Excel 2010".
But everytime it opens the registry of the local machine, not inside the bubble.

Any ideas how to fix this?

    Thanks again.

  • Have you tried launching regedit within Word 2010? Does the virtual registry open in that case?

  • Hello,

Does the above statement mean that after removing the PKG-file for a using having the problem - it does not at all alter the behavior with the printer?

(that would clearly indicate that you have a problem with the package itself and that it contains configuration within the package that causes your behavior)

  • Hello,

does the package contain anything that might interfere with the default mail client installed natively?
