MMC causing Page Faults making memory ski rocket RRS feed

    When checking on the webserver this morning I notied all the memory was taken up by hard faults.

    This is coming from the mmc.exe and the iis worker process.

    I have a picture  (print screen) of this but have not added a link because I do not want someone to think I am trying to do some SEO stuff.

    Right now it is causing my machine to use 47% of its memory due to page faults.

    What can i do?

    Which snapins does MMC.exe have loaded? Do you have Server Manager loaded and have you looked at other snapins such as IIS since opening Server Manager?

     

    I would recommend one of the following:

    1) Disable the automatic refresh of Server Manager. At the bottom of the main Server Manager page, you should see a link to configure the refresh. By default the refresh runs every two minutes and can certainly cause page faults over time.

    2) Close Server Manager when you are done using the UI.
