Windows 7 session logs off when disconnecting RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,

I'm running W7 ENT at home and work. When I rdp into work, my session is still active from when being at work. Yet while at home, If I disconnect (close the session), when I go to reconnect, or log back in locally at work, my sesion gets logged off. Is this by default now in W7? Is there a way to resolve this?

    Thank you

  • Hi Adam Bean, are you using RTM? On my RTM, the following notification should appear:

Meanwhile, you can try the following command to launch RDP:

    mstsc / v: ip /admin

You can also check the following thread:

  • Indeed, that is the same message I see.

Looking at my active directory profile now, and end a disconnection session and idle session limit are both set, but "when a session limit is reached or connection is broken" is set to "disconnect from session", which leads me to beileve that I shouldn't be logged off a disconnected session. Either way, I'm setting these to never and will see what happens.
