Two DHCP servers in one environment RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dears,

We have an environment with four different sites and different subnets. Only one site is configured with DHCP server.

Now the customer wants to configure DHCP for the other sites, can we add another DHCP server in each sites and configure scopes accordingly?

We will have conflict? can we authorize more then one DHCP server in one environment? and what are the best practices for this scenario?

  • Hi,

Yes, you can authorize more than one DHCP server in one environment.

You can add DHCP servers in each sites with different scopes.

There will be no conflicts, but you need to wait for the old leases to expire after installing new DHCP severs.

You can enable conflict detection to avoid conflict. Remember to turn off this feature after everything is fine, because this feature will affect performance.

    Best regards,
