Not able to Update 2017-12 Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows Server 2012 R2 for x64-based Systems.(KB4054519)

    Question

  • Hi,

    I am not able to install 2017-12 Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows Server 2012 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB4054519) in my Azure Virtual Machine.

    Every time it is giving me one message, Failed to install and giving me a Error code:- 80070002

     I also tried to install manually from this url https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4054519  , But it is giving me message like some updates were not installed.

    Can anyone guide me on this?

    Thanks,

    Maitri

    Please provide detail error message of failed update installation.

    Open CMD and type “sfc /scannow” to check/repair system files. Then, try to manually install KB4054519 again to check the result.

  • I'd try running the update trouble shooter (8.1 = 2012 R2)

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10164/fix-windows-update-errors

    Also try manual download and install the latest cumulative update.

  • You can also try repairing system and servicing corruption by running;

    sfc /scannow

    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    or possibly a repair install by running setup.exe from the root of the install media.
