Does FIM require Sharepoint to be installed using Kerberos? RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI Folks-

When I installed Sharepoint Foundation 2010 which points to a SQL Server 2008 R2 instance, I configure it to use NTLM during install instead of Kerberos.

Now that I am about to install FIM, and working through those prereqs that talk to setting up SPNs etc., I'm getting worried that I should have installed Sharepoint with Kerberos option selected.

Do I need to punt and start over on the Sharepoint install and select Kerb or will NTLM work?

    Thanks!

  • If you go through the setup steps in the Technet FIM install guide, you'll be making all the changes to start using Kerberos.

  • Hi,

You can start to run installation. And later when you need to Kerberos, you can configure it.
