FIM - GAL Sync to use NATted IP for DC and Exchange RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

we are using FIM to publish a common gal for our customers. One of our customers is quite reluctant to provide the IP details and would like to know if he can provide the NATted IP addresses of the Domain Controller for Conditional Forwarding. I understand that when we NAT the IP, the machine should be reachable but will not be able to resolve local DNS.

Can you please let me know if FIM requires DNS resolution for the GAL Contacts to be published on the other domain or if we can go ahead and use the NATted IP address.
