XP Upgrade to Vista Business Fails

Question
-
I've spent days trying to upgrade from XP Pro to Vista Business with no success. I'm running a DFI LanPary board with an Opteron 165 cpu, 3mb memory, Nforce4 chipset. XP is on a 500gb Sata drive. My error log is below. Any clues as to why it won't upgrade?
Thanks

We've got this issue with our ActionPack sub disks too - PC doesn't matter, seems to be the disk!Friday, June 8, 2007 8:23 AM

I have the same error - and did everything possible to try and eliminate any system issues that may have prevented the errors. I'm friggin' lost. I feel like a newb. My previous computer expertise has been rendered moot.Monday, June 11, 2007 11:53 AM

I ended up replacing the motherboard of that computer, it works now. This may not be the solution for everyone though.

I've got the same problem using Windows Easy Transfer on the XP-SP2 side, while trying to copy files and settings from the XP machine to a new Vista machine - the Vista side comes up fine and is waiting for the other side. As an experiment I installed the Easy Transfer on two other XP machines; one worked, one failed. So overall I'm batting 333 with no solution in sight.
Is anyone aware of a potential solution? Microsoft, are you listening????
