Lync with Avaya IPoffice RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have lync working fine ( (FE+ MediaGW) + Edge ) on 2 servers . and it works fine, so I am trying to deploy it with our Avaya IPoffice which have the Trunk License ( another article here how to do that . but i have some Q.

well to give you more info about the avaya design , we assign each user a diff No which only contain 3 NO . like 111 , 112 etc , and each Department have its own No start like Fin have 2$$ , IT 3$$, HR 4$$ , which assign to avaya client devices, when i try to make new ARS and New Short Code in Avaya to match the avaya users EXT liek 211 , it conflict with my users short Cuts . so may be i didn't get it how to deploy avaya with lync,

can any one show in details more how this could be done .

    Thanks

  • In Lync you have to use the e.164 Format like +1222333444211.

You could only use a phone number one time, so you have do decide to use the 211 on the avaya or on lync.

Or you add one number like 211 on the legacy Avaya PBX and +12223334445211;ext=5211 on Lync

Agree with Holger, you should have different extensions for avaya and Lync, here is a useful blog post talking about Lync and Avaya IP office integration.

  • Yes it is the easiest way. I would use the Lync as Primary Extension and use simult. ringing to the extension of the pbx.
