I have a problem with file sharing on a Windows Server 2008 Standard SP2.
I am not sure why this share folder become not accessible one in a while. I have no problem with share folder from the other PC in the same network with Windows Server 2003 Standard.
Every time the share folder become inaccessible, I will need to reboot the server. The odd thing is that I still can remote to the server where I share the folder, ping the IP etc.
I saw quite a number of similar incident by other user and some suggested a windows update. But, the problem is that this server is offline. Anyone can tell me which hotfix fix this? Or this is cause by other setting?

Do you see any errors in event viewer when shares are inaccessible ?
The server in question, is that a member server or in a workgroup ?
I do not represent the organisation I work for, all the opinions expressed here, are my own.
