Sftcore.exe 100% CPU usage RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've recently pruned a Softgrid SQL database that had grown to 90GB by running the truncate MESSAGE_LOG and APPLICATION_USAGE tables commands.  The database was reduced to just a few MB and now has the default maximum size and retention period set to prevent renewed growth.  Following this, however, three VAS servers were stuck with 100% cpu usage from sftcore.exe.  I have tried amending the logging module (as per kb931595) which has corrected one server, but I have been unable to do anything with the other two.  As these will no longer serve applications I'd appreciate any help from anyone in resolving this

    Thanks

Answers

  • After posting the above, I got to look at the SQL server error log, and found that the Softgrid database had run out of space.  Fixing this and restarting the VAS servers has fixed the problem.  Red face here, but thanks again for responding.

By the way, I love the faces that appear in the server log copy

  • Take a look at the sft-server.log and check for any obvious errors,  If you see anything suspicious can you post it here?
