Delete Message Trace History

    Question

  • Hi All,

In our Organisation we perform message traces.

After the message traces are completed successfully we can see what message traces have been run for upto 90 days. Is there a way to clear or delete the completed trace history in its entirety or individually? Either by EMC or PowerShell?

any information will be much appreciated.

  • Hi,

You can set the age and directory size of message tracking log as follows

    Set-TransportServer YourServerName -MessageTrackingLogMaxAge 1

    Set-TransportServer YourServerName -MessageTrackingLogMaxDirectorySize 10MB

  • Hi Paddy,

    Welcome to our forum.

In addition to above suggestions, we could delete all current message trace log manually, we could navigate to the following path:

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\TransportRoles\Logs\MessageTracking

Is it possible to get to the transport logs directory "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\TransportRoles\Logs\MessageTracking" if we are using O365 hosted email.
