Upgrading SCCM clients to 5.00.8325.100 using a package RRS feed

  • Question

  • I just upgraded to SCCM 1511 and wanted to upgrade the clients by using an SCCM package vs the auto upgrade.

I'm not having consistent results when upgrading my clients and I wanted to check if anybody else is successfully using an SCCM package to upgrade their clients.

I also noticed the ccmsetup.exe exists with exit code 7 which I believe SCCM is flagging as a failure.

I'm trying to clean up some old posts. May I know if there was any update on this issue?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hello,

I am facing the same problem in my SCCM environment after upgrading it to 1511.

I also have observed that it is showing "ccmsetup is exiting with return code 7" only for the machines where .net 4.5.2 is installed & for rest it is showing "ccmsetup is exiting with return code 0".

Just want to share this if it can help you.

    Thank you.

  • Not sure why error code 7 is shown, but I'm 99.9% sure that this is in fact due to the .NET Framework 4.5.2 installation requesting/requiring a reboot.
