Project Server 2007 to 2010 projects not published with SP2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • The following technet article states that all projects must be saved and published after installing SP2 prior to a Project Server 2007 to 2010 upgrade:  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg595640.aspx   What happens if they are not published before the upgrade?

  • Hi Jon,

It's a good to have all projects published before we start the upgrade process. If you don't publish the projects before you upgrade, You may encounter scheduling engine exceptions/project file loading issues while open project from MS project or PWA after upgarde. I have observed that in a trail upgarde sometimes back. As mentioned, it is highly recommended to detect issues that may prevent a successful upgrade of your data.

This is my own experience. may be others have more to add.
