    I am facing an issue while running SharePoint 2106 Configuration Wizard. Error: Failed to create the configuration database.This is a critical task. You have to fix the failures before you can continue. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- An exception of type System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException was thrown. Additional exception information: CREATE DATABASE permission denied in database 'master'. Please help me on this. Thanks in advance...

    Hi,

    Per the error message, it means the account to create the database doesn't have the necessary permissions in SQL Server.

    If the account that you use to run the configuration wizards does not have the appropriate special SQL Server role membership or access as db_owner on the databases, the configuration wizards will not run correctly.

    1. Run "SQL Server Management Studio" as administrator.

    2. Open Security -> Then Logins

    3. Select the account and open the account’s properties.

    4. Click Server Roles and then check dbcreator and securityadmin.
