Unable to create WSS 3.0 sites in spanish "No se admite el idioma en el servidor." RRS feed

  • Question

  • We moved our WSS 3.0 farm to different servers. We installed the language packs for Spanish but when we go to a spanish site that was migrated we are unable to create subsites. The only error given is this "No se admite el idioma en el servidor."

There are no other errors in the logs or event viewer. I've turned the logs up to verbose and information and the only refrence in the logs is the same message I've listed above. We've tried blogs that mention machine keys, installing language packs, installing the MUI for server 2003 all with no luck.

  • Hi Jason,

Have you tried running the language pack installer again in Repair mode and then rerunning theSharePoint Configuration wizard?  (Recommended in this post.)

    Hope this helps,

  • Hi Jason,

It problem still persists after reinstall language pack, please check if the following registry key is present:

    Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server Extensions\12.0\ServerLanguage

If it is not there, create it.

    New string value
    > Key name: refer to this http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc824907.aspx (i.e. type 1033 if it is English locale)
    > Let it empty in Value.

    Thanks & Regards,
