xbox media center extender can connect to vista ultimate computer but when it attempts to open any audio or video file, including live tv, media center extender just hangs. On the media center, everything works fine. This is a fresh install of vista. Vista built in firewall is disabled. Symantec protection agent firewall is also disabled. I don't understand why the extender will bring up the media center UI but not play any files. It is able to browse the tv guide.
