    Hello all,

    I've read about Page Zeroing for Exchange @ https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg549096(v=exchg.150).aspx

    Page Zeroing records a certain fixed pattern during runtime scan (R for Replace, H for Freed Page Space etc)

    I'm performing some sort of testing in my development environment and would like to know:

    1) Can i turn off page zeroing? I think i can disable it during Background Maint Window by completely disabling ESE Scanning on a database but not sure how to do it for runtime.

    2) In my application, i would like to record all the status codes of zeroing, where can i read this information?

    3) Can i disable it on Passive copies? or can i delay it for a day maybe by using some registry tweaks?

    Any information will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

    As mentioned in that document, it's enabled by default, and it cannot be disabled.

    2) In my application, i would like to record all the status codes of zeroing, where can i read this information?

    Refer to 'Monitoring Page Zeroing Behavior' section in that document. Besides this, no other built-in method can monitor it based on my knowledge.

    3) Can i disable it on Passive copies? or can i delay it for a day maybe by using some registry tweaks?

    We can't disable it any where, and the passive copies never had its pages zeroed. I searched around and don't found any way to delay it.
