Exchange 2010 Inbox Rules Quote RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Community,

I know how to find the quote limit for a users Inbox Rules storage and understand that it's default to 64kb but I'm not seeing how to determine how much of that quota limit has been met.  Is there a way to determine this either through EMC or EMS?

    Thank you!

  • Hi Ryan,

When you reach the 64 KB limit, you'll be warned that you can't create any more rules.

To determine the current ‘Rules Quota’ limit for a user or mailbox, run the following command in the Windows PowerShell module:

    get-mailbox -identity <mailbox> | fl *rulesquota*

Some ways you can reduce the space used by rules are:
    • Delete rules you no longer need
    • Shorten the names of your rules
    • Combine one or more rules that do the same thing
    • Remove criteria from rules
