Error on new PWA instance after deleting old one RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All.

I have installed Project Server 2010. Also i had instance with url http://server1:43195/pwa. I've deleted it and created new one (http://server1:45061/pwa), also specified new databases. But some operations, like adding users or deploy solutions finished with errors. In the ULS logs i found out that some action points out to the old instanse. Like this:

MUI Provisioning 'SharePoint - 43195:PWA': Failed to provision language 1049 to site. Exception 'System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.IO.FileNotFoundException: The site with the id be90905c-a90f-4a26-95ce-1084463ab5a0 could not be found. at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPSite..ctor(Guid id, SPFarm farm, SPUrlZone zone, SPUserToken userToken) at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPSite..ctor(Guid id, SPUrlZone zone) at Microsoft.Office.Project.Server.Base.PlatformContext.PreInitialize(Guid trackingId, Guid siteId, SPUrlZone urlZone, CultureInfo languageCulture, CultureInfo localeCulture) at Microsoft.Office.Project.Server.Base.PlatformContext..ctor(Boolean isWindowsUser, String username, Guid siteId, SPUrlZone urlZone)...	f2049657-a8ff-4835-ab84-7e76f178eeda
    Please help to resolve.

  • Hello,

How did you remove the old PWA instance? It should be unrelated as you have a new web application for the new instance (going by the port number) so they are separate. Did the new PWA site provision successfully on the Provisioning status?

  • Hi Denis,

Is the provisioned successfully? Do you get any errors in the Queue or on the page when you are trying to add the users.

You can also try switching off the Static & Dynamic compression in IIS.
