UAC gets disabled automatically RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi,

I'm facing a weird UAC related problem in my machine. I'm using Win 8.1 Enterprise edition. UAC is by default disabled. When I enable it, restart the system and open any app, the system restarts automatically and on restart UAC gets disabled. I don't understand why this is happening. Can I get any help?

Please let me know if more info is needed.

  • Boot in to Safe mode and check the issue.

    Try a Clean Boot

Open Command Prompt as Admin and type in the following command followed by hitting the Enter key:

    sfc /scannow

You can try running an Automatic Repair from the OS disc

    • Boot into the Windows 8 disc.
    • Once selecting your language, time and keyboard settings, click Next to load the next window, then click on the Repair your computer link on the bottom left corner of the window.
    • You should then be presented with a Choose an Option screen, with Troubleshoot as an option to select.
    • In the Troubleshoot screen, select Advanced options.
    • Select Automatic Repair from the Advanced options screen and then select the target operating system to repair, which would be Windows 8 in this case.
