tracking Windows 8 number of activations RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,

I need to track how many times a specific Windows 8
    Pro key has been activated.

I have suspicions that the key was compromised and
used on a completely different machine.

Is there a tool that will get this info?

    Thanks in advance.

  • There is a Tool for MAK-keys, Volume Activation Management Tool (VAMT) 3.0 that supports Windows 8 keys. VAMT 3.0 is a part of Windows ADK that you can find here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30652

I use this tools to keep track on all our MAK-keys. You can add Retail keys aswell, but they don't work the same way hence don't have a "remaining activation count".

Sorry for only posting partial keys ;-)

  • I am afraid that this is out of your range. Ask at the Microsoft Activation center (MSAC). Give MSAC more information on type of your license.

  • The volume activation management tool (vamt) allows you to see how many time a MAK key has been used.
