  • Hi,

Is your Virtual machine set with static IP or dynamic IP. if it set to have dynamic IP please change it to have static IP and then try to connect to your virtual machine from remote location.

    Thanks.

  • If you get the static IP address, you verify whether the address is avaible by directly request the site using the IP address, like: http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:PORT/default.aspx.

If you wish to access the site via your machine name, you’ll need to register your machine name and its associated ip address in DNS server.

  • Typically when I have problems doing this it is either because I have not installed the Tools for the VM (in some case such as Parallels, these tools provide Networking) or because Windows Firewall is specified in the Operating system (so not a VM problem as such) in such a way that remote access is blocked.

But make sure the VM Tools are installed first.

  • Hi rajan,
                   thanks for ur reply.

it is on dynamic IPaddress. i will request for a static IP address.

after creating Static IP for the VM ,the site will be directly accesed as we type the   siteName :http://macinename:1234/default.aspx. in the remote location.

or we need to type any other url ?

    thanks,
    raju.
