Suddenly getting MSExchangeSA and DSAccess errors RRS feed

  • Question

  • I suddenly started getting these errors in Exchange:

Event 2114: Process IISIPMDF958D91-5254-49C7-8DB7-9AB4B24AFC87 -AP "EXCHANGEAPPLICATIONPOOL (PID=2560). Topology Discovery failed, error 0x8007077f

Event 9098: The MAD Monitoring thread was unable to read its configuration from the DS, error '0x8007077f'

When I checked on PID 2560 it shows w3wp.exe or the IIS worker process

I checked in AD Sites and Services and everything looks normal.  We have two sites.  We've never defined a subnet either but Exchange has always worked regardless of that.

Aside from that, mail works fine.  OWA seems fine.  But the event logs are getting flooded with these two messages.

    Any clues?

  • 0x8007077f No site name is available for this machine.

According to my know, this issue is caused by Exchange server has got IP address for which there is no subnet defined in the site.

As a resolution, you can redefine a new subnet and associate it with the site, then restart the workstation and server services on exchange server

  • Just restart the Workstation and Server services?  Don't have to reboot the whole exchange server?
