SP2007 - SPexport/SPimport RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    My customer is on Sharepoint 2007. They put in place some automated tools to rename and move sites.

    They use the SPexport and SPimport to copy a site. When importing, if they use in the SPimportsettings command the UserInfoDateTime property with the value "ImportAll", it returns an exception. If they set the value to "none" or if they don't use this property, the import works correctly but they loose all author names on all versions, which is not satisfying.

    Here is what they got in the log with the error "specified cast is not valid":

       à Microsoft.SharePoint.Deployment.ListSerializer.SetObjectData(Object obj, SerializationInfo info, StreamingContext context, ISurrogateSelector selector)
       à Microsoft.SharePoint.Deployment.XmlFormatter.ParseObject(Type objectType, Boolean isChildObject)
       à Microsoft.SharePoint.Deployment.XmlFormatter.DeserializeObject(Type objectType, Boolean isChildObject, DeploymentObject envelope)
       à Microsoft.SharePoint.Deployment.XmlFormatter.Deserialize(Stream serializationStream)
       à Microsoft.SharePoint.Deployment.ObjectSerializer.Deserialize(Stream serializationStream)
       à Microsoft.SharePoint.Deployment.ImportObjectManager.ProcessObject(XmlReader xmlReader)
       à Microsoft.SharePoint.Deployment.SPImport.DeserializeObjects()
       à Microsoft.SharePoint.Deployment.SPImport.Run()

    Hope I can get some help  here.

    Hope this helps,
