Websearchonly - no images? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

So we currently have Lync Server 2013 & Lync 2013 client with the default policy to download the address book.

We are migrating to Skype for Business 2015 next month and we are currently testing a new Windows 10 image with Office 2016 and the Skype for Business client. Exchange on the other hand is in a hybrid scenario where some of the users are hosted in Exchange Online.

What we noticed on the new client was an error saying it cannot synchronize the address book so we changed the way the client works by moving away from the download and building a local db towards the websearchonly function. Error message went away and we could search the users.

However, we have now noticed that all images of the users does not appear any more so we ended up in fining people but we cannot see their image.

Howe come? What can we change?

  • Hi zid,

Did you mean you can’t see SFB user photo in SFB client now?

Did this issue only appear on the specific client in your environment?

For this issue, please try to make sure your SFB client with the latest update and then please try to delete SFB cache files

    %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync\sip_UserName@Domain.com

This issue may be caused by synchronization issues, so after you migrating to SFB server, we suggest you run the command in SFB management shell check if CMS has the latest update.

    Get-CsManagementStoreReplicationStatus
