Network Prompt during Task Sequence causes task sequence to pause until tech intervention RRS feed

  • Question

  • During the start of my task sequence to install windows 10 and configure it, I get stopped by a prompt that occurs during first logon.  Windows 10 wants me to decide if the network is Private or Public.  It's clearly private since it's the domain that the machine is bound to, however this seems to cause the computer to not acquire a DHCP address.  I have to run ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew in order to resolve this problem.  Once done, the task sequence continues once I click "retry" since an error was thrown that it cannot access the Deployment Share.

My question is, what is the best way to manage this private/public setting?  GPO?  Powershell script?  I can think of 4 ways to do it but I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions.  Thank you.
