Which Option is more reliable for migrating Application from Development Environment to Production Environment for day to day basis ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Friends

I am looking for a powershell script to reliably Export and import Applications from Development Environment to production Environment, i did find scripts for Exporting the Applications, i did not tried yet , did not find for Importing the Applications

currently we are using migration wizard to create migration job to get an application from Dev to Production, in few cases the migration job fails to migrate.... although in general it is working fine

is Exporting Importing Application more reliable than migration jobs ?  if yes need script, if no then need command/script to check if the migration job completed which was created.

    Kind regards

  • Although migration technically works, it's not meant for long term scenarios and is not something I would rely on. Also, migration don't move source files. Exporting and importing make way more sense to me and handles source files also.

  • Yes, its an option in the export wizard.

There are PowerShell commands for this -- it should be quite easy to create a script for this.
