Machines configured to auto login, but did not?? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I manage a network of about 700 point of sale windows xp sp 3 machines.  Last night we experienced an issue with a windows patch being deployed that we did not want - and I was up for a bit in the middle of the night taking care of this situation.

One thing that I came across and I do not understand - these machines are configured to automatically login via group policy preferences.  While troubleshooting my issue last night, I came across 63 machines that had rebooted due to the patch install, but did not automatically login.

Today I have verified that all of the registry settings look correct, I have the default domain, default user, default password and the auto admin logon set for all of these machines.

Is there any thing else I can look at to tell me why these machines did not login automatically?

    Thanks
