How to restore Windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently bought the assets from a closed company which included several newer computers all showing the windows 7 license sticker and product key.

After purchase when I tried to turn them on nothing happened and it appears the hard drives have either been replaced or erased, there were no disks with the assets purchased.  How can I go about reinstalling the operating system?  They all have their windows 7 license stickers with there product keys, but I don't know where to get the software that goes with those keys.

    Your help would be appreciated.

If the previous OS was pre-installed the COA on the bottom is probably OEM and if it is, it is tied to the hardware.  Normally a HD replacement would not trigger a re-evaluation but you would have to re-install the OEM flavor of the OS from the original mfr.  For example, if they are Dell you would have to re-install the dell OEM version of the OS.

That may make it a bit more difficult to get because often the mfr proves to be difficult.
