Automatically create project sites only for certain project types RRS feed

  • Question

  • In Project Server 2010, there is an option to automatically create project sites when creating a new project (Project Site Provisioning Settings).  This appears to be a system-wide setting for all project types. Is it possible to enable/disable this feature by Enterprise Project type? I don't see a similar option under Enterprise Project Type settings.

  • Unfortunately Mike you are right. This setting is for the PWA instance and cannot be set by project type (EPT). I guess this is feasible with a powershell script.

    Hope this helps,

  • I think your best bet is to utilise a Project Server Event Receiver on Project creation to create the site depending on the EPT. (Custom code solution)

The Project Publish PSI call has a parameter that when set will cause the site to be created during a publish.

    Cheers,
