Windows 7 listed twice in boot manager RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

i have created a new Win 7 image for a HP laptop using WAIK, ImageX, Sysprep with an unattend.xml file

I use diskpart in a script to wipe the new disk, create a primary partition, rename it C:, format it and make it bootable.

i then use imagex and push an image to the disk and run bcdboot command to make it bootable.

On reboot and once the image has built, i have 2 windows 7 options listed on the boot menu.

They certainly were not there before I imaged the PC.

  • Hi,

BCDboot command will override the existing entry. But if there is a differenct entry there, it will create a new entry. So I assume that the Windows 7 entry in the BCD is different from before so that there will be two entries.
