Server 2008 R2 Spinning circle on network icon in bottom tray RRS feed

  • Question

  • This server is setup as a file sharing server and is a member on a domain.  I am running SQL 2008.  When I log into The server it comes up very slowly and I have a spinning circle on the network icon in the bottom tray.  I cant access the network port  I can go to one of my workstation on the network and access the shared folders on the server.  I can run a few programs that access the internet and they receive files back.   my SQL backup I have to run manually inside of SQL.  Help

  • I'd check the domain controller and problem member are not multi-homed and that both domain controller and problem member have the static ip address of DC listed for DNS and no others such as router or public DNS

  • Hi,

The first thing we can try is reinstall network adapter driver.

Then as Dave Patrick said, check network settings and domain controller and problem member.

    Best regards,
