MDT 8450, Windows 10 ADK 1809 - unattend_unknown.xml error RRS feed

  • Question

  • When creating a new standard client TS for 1809 in MDT, I get an error message.

    Could not find file "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Deployment Toolkit\Templates\unattend_unknown.xml".

    Performing the operation "import" on target "Task sequence".
    Beginning task sequence import
    Creating item named test at DS006:\Task Sequences\RTM to Gold.

    System.Management.Automation.CmdletInvocationException: Could not find file 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Deployment Toolkit\Templates\Unattend_Unknown.xml'. ---> System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Deployment Toolkit\Templates\Unattend_Unknown.xml'.
       at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)
       at System.IO.File.InternalCopy(String sourceFileName, String destFileName, Boolean overwrite, Boolean checkHost)
       at Microsoft.BDD.PSSnapIn.ImportTaskSequence.CopyAnswerFiles(String destination)
       at Microsoft.BDD.PSSnapIn.ImportTaskSequence.ProcessRecord()
       at System.Management.Automation.CommandProcessor.ProcessRecord()
       --- End of inner exception stack trace ---
       at System.Management.Automation.Runspaces.PipelineBase.Invoke(IEnumerable input)
       at Microsoft.BDD.Wizards.TaskSequenceProgress.WizardProcessing()
       at Microsoft.BDD.Wizards.WizardProgress.InitiateWizardProcessing()

    I uninstalled and reinstalled the ADK and updated the deployment share.  MDT was not touched as there is no newer version.

    Anyone else getting the same error?

  • vlsc was just updated.  It shows 2 separate designations for x64 now.  I think only the ARM iso was available before, even though it was not marked as such..

    Windows 10, Version 1809 (Updated Sept '18) 64 Bit English 64 bit 4505 MB ISO

  • I think the problem is that when the ISO is imported, the Platform is marked as "Unknown" instead of "x64".
