Cortana and Search bar doesn't work RRS feed

  • Hello,
    I've got some problems with my Cortana on windows 10. It was using fair amount of ram and I thought turning it off. As soon as I killed the task, Cortana disappeared from Processes tab in Task manager, as well as SearchUI.exe disappeared from Details and realised that I can no longer use start menu's search bar too, can't type anthing in it.

    Now I'm trying to get Cortana back. So far I tried Dism in cmd, sfc /scannow, Powershell with commands like

    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

     , but nothing seems to help. I've lost hope, I know I can fix it with reinstalling Windows, but that would my last resort.

    Okay, so what I did for it to disappear, I used method from a post I found. Basically I used one after another these commands.

    takeown /f "%WinDir%\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy" /a /r /d y
    icacls "%WinDir%\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy" /inheritance:r /grant:r Administrators:(OI)(CI)F /t /c
    taskkill /im SearchUI.exe /f
    rd "%WinDir%\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy" /s /q

    I'm desperate, can someone help me get search bar back?
