Use DPM 2012 to backup VMs on CSV Cluster 2012 RRS feed

  • Hi Guys

    How can I use DPM to backup my virtual machines on a CSV cluster? Do I have to install the DPM agent on the CSV Hosts and then select the VM folders on the CSV disk? Can I back up the entire virtual machines while they are running?

    I can't seem to find any MS document that properly details this process. Can you advise?????

  • Hello,

    You first install DPM agents on the hosts, then the cluster will be discovered by the DPM agents, and when you create your protection group you will find different VM under the cluster tree [the name of your cluster followed by (cluster)], then you select the different VM by checking "Backup Using Child Partition Snapshot...":
