media player not playing RRS feed

  • Question

  • My computer crashed and I had it fixed. It's old. Had another hard drive and more RAM installed. Everything was on external so not a total loss. Now, media player won't play anything. Music library is still there (in triplicate, in fact) and comes up. Music folders are full and saved to both hard drives, fine. Media player just exes out songs and won't play. Sometimes error message, other times not. Rolled back to media player 9 (which I prefer anyway) and still nothing happens. Web help has not been helpful. Don't know what codecs are or how or where (secure) to get them. Not even sure if that's the problem. Somehow pathways to music have disappeared. Don't know what to do. Is it a driver issue? How and where do I get those? Called and e-mailed Microsoft already. Anyone else having (or had) this issue. Not a computer tech, tried all I know. Haven't been able to download anything. Don't know what else to do.
