OWA throws unexpected error while opening anything under Options or when trying to Create Rule under Actions RRS feed

  • Question

  • OWA throws "Unexpected Error An error occurred and your request couldn't be completed.  Please try again" while opening anything under Options or when trying to Create Rule under Actions for all users.

"lodctr /r in c:\windows\system32 and then running an iisreset. "  worked for me.  thanks everyone

  • Hi,
Have you by any chance, configured redirection on the Default Web Site to simplify OWA URL?

If you did that, you need to make sure that the redirection is removed from the Virtualdirectories, like EWS, Autodiscover etc. See the section "Use IIS Manager to remove redirection from a virtual directory" in the below Technet Article.
