Runnning Vista 64 Ultimate with VX-6000 RRS feed

  • Question

I purchased the Microsoft VX-6000 on the intent that since it was a Microsoft product installing it should be flawless.  Boy was I suprised.  I cannot get this webcam to work at all.  It works fine on my XP laptop but Vista 64 - forget about it.  I also notice that in XP it has a desktop manager that lets you make pictures inside your Yahoo Messenger.  In Vista it appears only in Live Messenger.  Why is that?

The webcam's USB plug is directly plugged into my computers USB port so no hub would be in the way.  Just comes up as Unknown Device under my USB Serial Port Controllers.  Does anyone know where the driver gets installed so I can manually try to install this device driver, thanks

  • I am having the same problem now - I have XP SP3. I installed the software from the cd and even downloaded a new file from Microsoft. The camera doesn't work and audio has problems too... basically the same problem as mentioned initially
