UEFI boot performance is terrible RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm running a Dell Precision M4500 (i5 2.4ghz, 4gb ram, 160gb vertex 2 ssd) and I reinstalled with 7 Pro x64 in UEFI mode. Now my system lags as much waits at a black screen for 10-12 seconds between the dell splash screen and the windows loading screen.  I tried this hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/983461 but it says its not applicable to my computer, I feel like it should be applicable to my computer from the problem description.

Additionally I can't hibernate my computer, I receive error code 0xc000000d when I try to boot from it and I need to delete the hibernation files in order to boot again. Any ideas?

The hotfix is already included in the latest security update (6.1.7600.16617 - KB981852).

I have no idea why you get this error message. You should contact the MS support directly:
