Setting Steady State "Profile Lock" On Causes Profile Problems RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a simple (I thought) and straight forward use for steady state.  I am building several internet cafe machines each with 2 user accounts (Super User - admin and Cafe User - limited).  The first 3 systems were my learning curve and I thought I understood how it all worked, until I built machine 4.  The first 3 machines have only Super User listed as XP user profiles, despite also having cafe user desktops.

When I enable profile lock on machine 4 I can't use that desktop anymore.  It will refuse the profile and either not work at all or create a roaming profile (devoid of the programs I need).

    What am I missing here?

    Thanks in advance,
    Mike
