Reusing Folder Content Types and views in multiple document libraries RRS feed

    Hi.

    In Sharepoint 2007 I have a folder content type and an associated view only available to that folder content type. Now, I create a folder within a document library using the content type and the view is the way I want it. The order in which I create things is:

    Document Library -> Folder Content Type -> Folder -> View -> Change permissions for view

    Now, I create another document library, include the folder content type from above and create a folder within the new document library using the above folder content type. But the view is the default view (All documents") and not the view I created above.

    Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?

    The view is attached to the library, not to the content type.  You can go to the first document library > settings > document library settings > save document library as template.

    Then create the new document library from that template.

    The view is attached to the library, not to the content type.  You can go to the first document library > settings > document library settings > save document library as template.
