Lync 2010 Client drops calls after 20-30 seconds RRS feed

  • Question

  • Im having a problem with Microsoft Lync, where it drops a call after a couple of seconds without even an error message.

The problem started when moving houses and getting a new cable provider. On the new provider internet, Outlook, etc. all work perfectly fine and actually faster then before.

Sign-in to Lync and texting also works perfectly fine.

The issue only occurs when trying to make a voice call or share a presentation. It connects but then after a few seconds drops the call.

The Lync/outlook exchange runs via a corporate server and is used as the main communication tool in my organisation.

Does anybody have experiences with that type of issue?

  • Hi,

i assume that the server side is OK since only you have this problem. is peer to peer or PSTN calls working? also make sure that you have enough bandwidth to support a voice call. if not, i suspect that the service provider might be blocking voice traffic.
