Will exchange email address policies stored in active directory? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Will all the policies like address policy and exchange's email address policy stored in active directory or any other location. If stored in active directory, in which partition it will be stored?

  • Yes, in AD under the Configuration Container where all the Exchange objects are stored.

If you look under this tree, you will see an object called "Recipient Policies" and under that are the actual policies.

Under the Transport Settings object, you will see the accepted domains, etc...

  • Yes, just about all settings (maybe all without exception?) at the Exchange Organization Level are stored in the Configuration Partition: cn=configuration,dc=contoso,dc=com

(Assuming your domain name is contoso.com)
