Project using EPT in PS 2010 not visible on the system... RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Everyone,

Why is it that whenever a new EPT is used for the 1st time the publish projects using that EPT gets lost in the system (Not visible) as suppose to showing up in Project Center? This only applies to the 1st project created using that EPT, all other projects are visible via PWA...

  • Is your EPT using a workflow? If so, I'd check the workflow logs first - the behavior you mention is consistent with the workflow failing. Continuing down that path, is the workflow a custom one (built in Visual Studio), or are you relying on a 3rd party to build it? If Visual Studio, I'd ask your developer(s) to investigate based on the logs.

Here's how to get more details on the workflow execution:

    - Go to Site Actions, View All Site Content, Site Workflows, Show All Workflows, and in the table below you should see a list of running workflows, and some errors error. If you click on an error, it should give you more information about what went wrong
    - Go to Site Actions, View All Site Content, there is a list called Project Server Workflow History. If you open it and sort it by date descending, you should also see the latest workflow errors.

  • Perhaps check that the view in question, is not filtered in someway. Either try another view, another EPT type, or try and see if the project is retrievable in project pro.
