File Not Found when click on Symantec Protection 5.1 for SharePoint Servers in central administration RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dears,

We installed Symantec Protection 5.1 for SharePoint Servers and it was working fine till we faced suddenly the following error:

when we click on "Symantec Protection 5.1 for SharePoint Servers" in Central Administration --> Operations, we get an error "File Not Found."

After in-depth investigation and reading some articles we check the content DB and find that:

    select

DirName, LeafName,VirusVendorID,VirusStatus,VirusInfo from AllDocs where VirusInfo is not NULL

return one row with the following values:

    **************************

    English/Departments/IT/apps/web/Incident_Test/Forms

    template.xsn

    261

    6

There is no Symantec Scan Engine available. The file was not saved. Please contact your administrator for more information.   Code:8002

     ******************************

We checked the returned file (http://ourwebroot/English/Departments/IT/apps/web/Incident_Test/Forms/template.xsn) and found that we already deleted this file and its form library (Incident_Test)

We think that there is a relation between the error displayed and the file deleted (which its virus status as above = 6)

We checked the  "Symantec Protection 5.1 for SharePoint Servers" service and it is status is "started"

We checked the "symantec" folder under IIS --> central admin --> _admin and found that it is existed there

We need your help to fix the "File Not Found" error?

  • In my opinion you should contact Symantec with this problem.

Problems caused by third-party products are problems for the support forums of those products. They are not problems for the Microsoft SharePoint forums.
