  • Hi!

Look in your application- and systemlog locally on the server after you have tried to open the DPM console. Do you have a MMC error?

  • Hi

I ran into this during the DPM version 2007, your running DPM 2010?. Have you applied all avaliabe hotfixes for DPM? Since DPM uses the MMC that is a part of the OS for its console the crach could depend on different issuies. It could be a problem with your DPM database or it could be a bug in the MMC.

The best this you could do is open a MS support case and let MS support guys have a look.

If you would like to try something yourself you could dump the DPMDB using the DPMBACKUP.EXE (http://robertanddpm.blogspot.com/2010/09/disaster-recovery-of-dpm-server-made.html) and reinstall the OS, reinstall the DPM software, restore the DPMDB using DPMSYNC.
